Strategic Planning: You will participate in project planning to determine the needs of the business, define those requirement, and design solutions. This includes participating in design review sessions and ensuring solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. 

Be a Subject Matter Expert: You will participate in documenting all ETL and data warehouse processes and flows, create and support data load processes via SSIS and database refreshes, and create technical documentation for transition to support teams. You'll have to develop and manage schema data model through all data warehouse environments. You will have to communicate effectively both verbally in day-to-day discussions or team meetings, and also in writing for requirements and design specifications. Communication will be critical. 
Technical:  As a database engineer, you will perform detailed data analysis, such as determining structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples. You will have to develop automated data audit and validation processes to ensure end users are getting the right data. 
Be a Leader: You'll be expected to partner with and lead others in the delivery of database/data warehouse development solutions. You will be looked at as a mentor to less senior technical staff or contractors, and someone that will be proactive and establish effective interdepartmental relationships. You will lead small to medium sized projects across platforms or business areas, and also work closely with all the other development roles to create and maintain a specific set of applications, spanning data warehouse and business intelligence databases.
  • Bachelor's degree from a 4 year college or university in Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of 10 years work experience and at least 5 experience working in a related database role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2/2012/2014 and all its products and features, such as Analysis Services (SSAS), Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS), Replication and SQL Server Clustering.
  • Experience and familiarity with the following: .NET development, MS Office Products, MS CRM, MS Project, MS Visio,  MS PowerPoint, and MS Team Foundation Server (TFS).
  • Demonstrated leadership and attention to detail skills through prior experience at the tactical / implementation levels.
  • Experience with full implementation of SDLC     
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ETL concepts of data integration, enrichment, consolidation and aggregation; change, data capture and transformation; error handling
  • Demonstrated knowledge of database concepts of data modeling and mapping including normalization, dimensionality, referential integrity, indexes, keys, master data and metadata.
  • Strong database setup, configuration, maintenance / support, programming, debugging and testing skills, troubleshooting skills, and experience with numerous operating systems, database environments and architectures.
  • High-level development skills and experience with T-SQL, SSIS, PowerShell scripting.
  • Data Warehousing Methodology and best practices
  • Deep knowledge of Windows OS, Performance monitoring components and troubleshooting skills.
